He actively participates in commercial and contractual negotiations as well as maintains close and productive relationships with key stakeholders such as local governments, private investors, first nations and community partners.

He combines an academic background in geography (B.Sc), urban planning (M. Urb) and Business Administration (Grad Dipl). He started his career as an urban planner and political analyst for different entities such as the City of Montreal and the Union des Municipalités du Québec. In 2013, Simon transitioned into the renewable energies, up to becoming General manager for WGA Energy, a renewable energy developer with solar projects in West Africa and Latin America. In the last years he led the development of several projects from grid-connected to Behind the Fence contracts of ranges between 15MW and 100MW.
