1994

Guy Painchaud founds GPCo Inc., an engineering consulting firm specialized in renewable energy.

2001

Eolectric starts working on wind energy project development.

2003

Founding member of Ventus Energy, which is sold to GDF Suez in 2007 with more than 100 MW of power purchase agreements and a portfolio of 25 projects across Eastern Canada.

2004

Three projects developed by Eolectric, totalling 400 MW, are selected by Hydro-Québec during the first call for tenders for 1000 MW.

2006

Development of new markets in Canada and Mexico.

2008

Four projects developed by Eolectric, totalling 438 MW, are selected by Hydro-Québec during the second call for tenders for 2000 MW.

2009

Eolectric buys out the shares of its partner in the Vents du Kempt project, Australian company Babcock & Brown.

2010

Eolectric is behind two projects, totalling nearly 50 MW, selected by Hydro-Québec during the third call for tenders for 250 MW from community projects.

2010

GPCo is sold to the Hatch engineering group.

2012

Creation of the Eolectric Club, L.P. investment fund, dedicated to wind energy projects in Canada.

2012

Creation of the Mexican subsidiary Eolectrico Desarrollo Renovable, S.A. de C.V., to pursue project development activities in Mexico.

2013

Closing on the financing of more than $250 million for the Vents du Kempt project, one of the first long-term loans in the Canadian wind energy sector that integrated both banks and financial institutions.

2014

Eolectric Club, L.P. acquires a 49% share of the 100 MW De L’Érable wind farm, a project owned and operated by the Spanish company Enerfin.

2014

The Vents du Kempt wind farm starts commercial operation.

2016

Obtainment of financing for the acquisition of the Biomont 4.8MW biogas cogeneration facility.
