Vents du Kempt supports Matapedia organizations

BROSSARD, January 11th, 2011 –Vents du Kempt ("VDK") is proud in having contributed over the course of 2010 to the support through various organizations in of local activities and projects benefiting the regional community of the Matapedia Valley.

First, VDK donated $2500 to the Snowmobile Club La Coulée Verte from Albertville during its fundraising campaign to purchase a trail groomer.

VDK is as well helping Véloroute Desjardins de la Matapédia committee to realise its project to provide the region with a network of bicycle lanes provincially recognized as a section of the Route verte by donating to Véloroute Desjardins de la Matapedia $2000.

Vents du Kempt also helped to keep local celebrations alive by donating 1000 $ to the Causapscal Saint-Jean-Baptiste Committee to help finance Quebec National Day festivities at Parc de la Pointe; and 500 $ to the Sainte-Florence Centenary Committee for the organization of the village centenary celebrations.

Because remembering and respecting our past is important, VDK donated $750 to the Fabrique Sainte-Marguerite-Marie to finance the restoration work of the Sainte-Marguerite-Marie parish cemetery and Parc des Pionniers.

About Vents du Kempt:

Vents du Kempt is a 100 MW wind farm project located within the jurisdiction of the municipalities of Saint-Marguerite, Causapscal and Sainte-Florence. The project is scheduled for commercial operation in the fall 2014. VDK will create 150 jobs during its construction and approximately 10 permanent jobs during its operation.
