Éolectric acquires the 63 MW Papoqji'jg wind project in New Brunswick
Brossard, Québec, March 2026 - Éolectric Inc. announces the acquisition of the Papoqji'jg wind farm project from ABO Energy, marking a new step in the expansion of its activities in New Brunswick.
With an installed capacity of 63 MW, the project will contribute to the province’s renewable energy supply by powering the equivalent of thousands of homes. Commercial operation is scheduled for 2028.
The development and operation of the wind farm will be carried out in partnership with the Pabineau First Nation (Oinpegitjoig). This collaboration is part of Éolectric’s approach to developing sustainable energy projects rooted in local communities and generating long-term economic benefits.
Initially developed by ABO Energy, the Papoqji'jg project aligns with efforts to decarbonize the regional power grid. This acquisition allows Éolectric to actively pursue its growth strategy while strengthening its position in Eastern Canadian markets.
In addition, Éolectric is also developing the Astuwicuwon wind project (92 MW), in partnership with the Wolastoqey First Nation of Sitansisk (St. Mary’s), with commissioning also planned for 2028.
