Éolectric reaches a key milestone with the signing of a PPA for the Astuwicuwon wind project

Brossard (Québec), May 2025 - Éolectric Inc. confirms the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NB Power for the Astuwicuwon wind project, developed in partnership with the Sitansisk First Nation (St. Mary’s). The project also received its environmental certificate in February 2026, confirming the approval of its impact assessment submitted to the Department of Environment and Local Government.

With a capacity of 92 MW, the project was selected through a competitive request for proposals issued by NB Power. It will significantly contribute to integrating renewable energy into the provincial grid while supporting New Brunswick’s energy transition objectives.

Developed in collaboration with the Sitansisk community, Astuwicuwon reflects a partnership-based approach aimed at generating sustainable local economic benefits. This model demonstrates Éolectric’s commitment to responsible energy development rooted in the communities it serves.

The wind farm is expected to be commissioned in 2028.
