Eolectric Club and Fiera Axium announce the official commissioning of the Vents du Kempt wind farm

Brossard, December 2nd, 2014 - Eolectric Club, L.P. and Fiera Axium Infrastructure Canada Limited Partnership are pleased to announce the official commissioning of the 101.05 MW Vents du Kempt Wind Farm in the Regional County Municipality (RCM) of La Matapedia, Quebec (Canada).

"The commissioning of the Vents du Kempt Wind Farm is the culmination of over a decade of dedicated effort and work", said Guy Painchaud, President of Eolectric Inc. "We are proud of this great achievement and we are very grateful for the continued support from the local community and officials, as well as the project landowners."

The construction of the Vents du Kempt Wind Farm was undertaken over a period of slightly more than two years. At the peak of the construction period, more than 300 workers were on the site, of which almost 70% were from the local area.

"We are extremely pleased that the Vents du Kempt Wind Farm now contributes to Quebec’s power grid with clean and renewable energy", said Stéphane Mailhot, President and COO of Fiera Axium Infrastructure Inc., on behalf of Fiera Axium Infrastructure Canada Limited Partnership.

The Vents du Kempt Wind Farm, located in the territory of the municipalities of Causapscal and Sainte-Marguerite-Marie, in the RCM of La Matapédia, consists of 43 Enercon E92 wind turbines of 2.35 MW nominal capacity partly manufactured at the Enercon plant in Matane.

The Vents du Kempt Wind Farm, which executed a 20-year power purchase agreement with Hydro-Quebec Distribution as a result of the 2005 call for tenders for 2,000 MW of wind power, will provide sufficient energy to power the equivalent of 10,000 electrically heated homes.
