Vents du Kempt Environmental Impact Assessment Study submitted to the MDDEP

BROSSARD, August 12th, 2010 – Vents du Kempt filed today its Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study for the construction of a 100 MW wind farm project. The EIA presents several reports analysing and baselining the territory touched by the project, a description of the project, a public consultations report, the assessment of the project’s impacts and the environmental monitoring programs.

Conducted in accordance to the Quebec Loi sur la qualité de l’environnement, the study allows the Ministère du Développement Durable, de l’Environnement et des Parcs (MDDEP) to judge on the environmental acceptability of the project.

Submitting the EIA is a significant milestone in the development of a wind power project. Over the next few months, the MDDEP will analyze the document and will judge if it is complete. If it is deemed complete, the BAPE will hold an information session to collect and receive public opinion on the project.
